Posted in Hayden Panettiere on May 18, 2012 by

Hayden Panettiere was looking leggy as she left her hotel in New York’s Soho district this morning (May 18).

Dressed in a pleated skirt, leather jacket and nude pumps, the 22-year-old starlet was making the promotional rounds pimping her upcoming ABC series Nashville.

The show pits old country versus new. American Horror‘s Connie Britton is a waning singing star who goes on tour – as the opening act! – with a mean young thing played by Hayden.

For her part, Hayden has a set of pipes on her (she was even nominated for a Grammy back in 1999 for A Bug’s Life Read-a-Long!) and tells E! she’s always wanted to record country music. “I’ve always loved country music, but when you’re from New York, people are like, ‘Country music? Where’s the connection there?’” she explains.

Hayden plays Connie’s rival, professionally and maybe personally, on the show and tells us it’s hard being mean to the Friday Night Lights star onscreen. “Every time I had to be a you-know-what to her in the scene, I was like, ‘As long as you don’t’ really hate me at the end of the day!’

“I’m actually a huge fan of hers. I’ve watched Friday Night Lights, and I was a huge fan of American Horror Story,” she continues. “I remember right before she was about to sign, we were both at WME and I went up to her and I was like, ‘I hear you might be doing the show. I’m in love with the show. I really want to do it.’ She was like, ‘I’m so excited to hear that you might be involved.’ So we were ecstatic when it happened!”

Posted in Danny Moder, Julia Roberts on May 18, 2012 by

It was all eyes on Julia Roberts and hubby Danny Moder as they attended Heal The Bay’s Bring Back the Beach Gala at The Jonathan Club in Santa Monica, CA on Thursday (May 17).

Looking more loved up than ever, the happily married couple was among the nearly 1000 of Southern California’s environmental, business and entertainment community leaders who were honored for their shared love for the beach and dedication to ocean protection.

Meanwhile, Julia recently made headlines after she decided to sue the pants off two audio-visual companies.

According to court documents, Julia is joining forces with fellow Oscar winner George Clooney to sue Georgia-based Digital Projection Inc. and Canadian company Beyond Audio Inc, who have allegedly used their likeness without the pair’s permission.

In the lawsuit filed April 27 in L.A. Superior Court, gorgeous George asserts that “the defendants prominently used large photographs of Plaintiffs in Defendants’ advertising, marketing and promotions including print advertisements published in numerous magazines over the past several months.”

As for why they decided to join forces? George and Julia (who is suing under her married name, Julia Moder) are assembling to take action in the most high profile way possible. They hope that their combined spotlight will attract the moth-like press to expose the growing number of likeness offences.

The fearsome Hollywood twosome is requesting the companies remove the offending mentions and photos from their materials as well as unspecified general, special and punitive damages.

Posted in Rihanna on May 18, 2012 by

When it comes to Rihanna‘s wardrobe decisions, less is more.

The 24-year-old pop star proved that very fact as she stepped out in Santa Monica, CA on Thursday night (May 17) for dinner out with friends at Il Ristorante di Giorgio Baldi.

Barely dressed in a lacy tube top and crochet skirt, Rihanna had jaws dropping and cameras flashing as she made her way to a chauffeured vehicle following a night of fine Italian dining.

During her night out, marijuana enthusiast Riri posted THIS PIC on her Twitter account before writing: “I spy….. Sumn beginning with “my fav””

Meanwhile, uber director Peter Berg says Rihanna’s Chris Brown interview helped get her the role in the summer blockbuster Battleship.

“I’d obviously seen [Rihanna’s] videos and was a fan of hers,” he tells EW. “The videos were really sexy and obviously, you know, very entertaining to say the least. But what first caught my eye about Rihanna was an interview she did with Diane Sawyer after the Chris Brown incident, where she was very articulate, very poised, obviously a smart girl who talked about a very traumatic experience. That was a legitimate, violent, real experience that would traumatize anyone. I thought she handled herself very well. I was intrigued. That was the first time I really remember Rihanna kind of coming on my radar, someone that was more than just kind of a sexy girl that sang hip-hop songs.”

Posted in Brooklyn Decker on May 18, 2012 by

Brooklyn Decker made an appearance on Conan on Thursday night (May 17).

Looking lovely in leather, the 25-year-old stunner was on hand to promote two big movies she has coming out this weekend, Battleship and the ensemble cast romantic comedy What to Expect When You’re Expecting.

Before the broadcast, Brooklyn tweeted, “I talk 50 Shades w/my Dad in studio. #awkward”

Meanwhile, in a new interview with the Washington Post, Brooklyn opens up about her career as both model and actress. Some highlights:

Will you sneak into a theater and watch your new movies with an audience?

Decker: I have a really difficult time watching myself on film. I literally cower in my seat and cover my face. … There’s zero evidence that I was a model in my house, no pictures of me anywhere.

Would you be willing to take on a role with an unrecognizable or unattractive look, one that required you to, say, chop your hair or color it?

Decker: I think that’s the fun of being an actor. If an actress is concerned about how she’s looking all the time, I feel like you can’t really focus on becoming a character so I would welcome a physical change.

Are you more comfortable in a bikini or a ballgown?

Decker: It’s not that I’m comfortable in a swimsuit, and this is going to sound weird, but when you have a gown, there’s much more to be concerned about. Where is this crease falling? Are you making a weird shape with the dress? Are you doing the designer justice? With a bathing suit, it’s more about you and the mood you convey. So, I feel like a bathing suit is a little bit easier to wear, not more comfortable but easier.

You’re a big sports fan and a good athlete, what’s your game?

Decker: I have zero hand-eye coordination — zero — so I’ve never been good at softball, basketball, golf, things like that, but I’m really strong and I have really good endurance so I can go forever — I’m a tough girl. Growing up, I played soccer, which is a lot of endurance, and I ran track and field. I ran the 400-meter relay, the 800-meter relay, and the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles. Hurdles were probably my best events.

What would most surprise the public about models?

Decker: What surprised me most was how business savvy and how intelligent these girls were. They’re traveling around the world so they’re worldly and they’re exposed to places that some of us will never get to see and most girls are very well-read because they’re on planes all the time. Most girls realize it’s a business. There are dozens of examples of girls who have transitioned what they do into a business model and that’s to be respected.
